FAQ’s

  • Because of the attention your blooms will require, we can only book 1-2 projects per weekend. Secure your date/slot with a 50% deposit down, and a signed contract.

  • 2-3 weeks prior to your wedding date, we will connect to make a plan for the bouquet hand-off - ideally within 24-48 hours of the wedding day. I highly encourage assigning someone to bring the bouquet to me directly, as shipping can cause quite a bit of damage and add unnecessary time for the flowers to continue dying.

  • Flowers typically take anywhere from 2-4 weeks in total, depending on various pressing methods used. Once completed, I will pre-arrange the blooms and send you a snapshot to approve before I frame them. Once the design is approved, the final 50% payment is due.

  • As soon as your heirloom piece is finished, I will connect to arrange either a pick-up. Shipping or delivery is also available at an additional charge.

  • You are welcome to mail cash or a check (made out to “The Bloom Heirloom”) to our address. If you prefer to pay with credit card, we will send a PayPal link and simply add a 2.95% processing fee.

  • There are only a small handful of flowers that don’t “press” very well - calla lilies, orchids, mums. While not impossible, they usually aren’t as successful as other varieties. Succulents and airplants are not an option to press. Certain varieties such as craspedia, brunia, pincushions, protea, pinecones, etc. are not able to physically be pressed flat, even though they may dry nicely.

  • It’s your wedding day - congratulations!!! Do your best to keep your bouquet hydrated in water and out of direct sunlight as much as possible. At the end of your day, see if you can find a fridge (NOT freezer) to keep your bouquet in until they are handed off to me.

  • Depending on the specific blooms in your bouquet, I use a combination of both traditional floral press, and the Microfleur method. Different types of flowers will take better to one or the other process.

  • Pressed or not, flowers are a natural substance that will fade over long periods of time. However, keeping your frame out of direct sunlight and humidity will greatly slow this process down! Rest assured, your heirloom piece will remain beautiful many years later, although some of the petals may take on a more vintage “antiqued” look to them.

  • Inevitably, yes. Nearly all flowers will fade beautifully from their original colors into a more muted shade. Please keep in mind that certain colors can change entirely - for example, red flowers will almost always press into a shade of purple/burgundy. The flowers that keep their color best are yellows, blues, and orange!
